Sadiya Ansari is an author and award-winning journalist based in London. Her bestselling debut, In Exile: Rupture, Reunion and My Grandmother’s Secret Life, is part-memoir, part-investigation into a period of two decades where her paternal grandmother left her seven children, disappearing into rural Pakistan.

Sadiya has worked across platforms as a reporter, editor, manager and producer, and has taught journalism. Her work focuses on covering communities historically neglected by the media, specializing in reporting on migration — from labour market integration of Syrian refugees in Germany to queer asylum seekers struggling to secure status in Kenya.
